The following policy applies to all programs offered by Yes!School Community Centre.
Enrollment in any program constitutes full acceptance of this policy.
1. Purpose of the Policy
This policy ensures fairness, clarity and consistency in matters related to tuition, program cancellation, withdrawal and attendance.
2. Non-Refundable Tuition Model
Tuition reserves a program seat, instructional resources and staffing allocation.
For that reason:
All tuition payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after the first day of the program.
Non-attendance does not qualify for reimbursement.
3. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds or credits will not be issued for:
- Student absence due to illness, travel, vacation or family schedule changes
- Voluntary withdrawal by the parent or guardian
- Dissatisfaction with the program or curriculum
- Relocation of the family
- Change of teacher or class composition
- Personal conflicts with parent work schedules
- Temporary or long-term program interruption caused by missed classes
- Suspension or dismissal due to parent or student conduct violations
- School closures caused by weather, public safety or causes outside school control
4. Medical Exception (Limited)
A refund may be considered only if:
- the student is unable to attend for 4 or more consecutive weeks,
- a doctor’s letter is provided, and
- the School determines that withdrawal is medically necessary.
Approved medical refunds are:
- prorated (not full), and
- processed at the school’s discretion, and
- may require 2–6 weeks for administrative processing.
5. Absence Policy
- Missed classes cannot be rescheduled, credited or refunded.
- The school does not provide refunds for absences of any kind.
6. Program Withdrawal
Parents may withdraw a student at any time; however:
Withdrawal does not qualify for refund or credit, regardless of the date of withdrawal.
Formal withdrawal must be submitted in writing to Administration. Verbal notices or WhatsApp messages are not accepted.
7. Dismissal
Dismissal may occur due to:
- aggressive language or behaviour toward staff,
- violations of school safety rules,
- repeated communication boundary violations,
- privacy or recording violations,
- unpaid tuition or fees.
Dismissal is not grounds for refund or credit.
8. Financial Obligations & Late Fees
- Tuition must be paid in full by the due date.
- Late payment penalty: 5% per month on outstanding balance.
- Report cards and progress summaries may be withheld until the balance is cleared.
- Student attendance may be suspended until payment is received.
- Late pick-up fee: $2 per minute per child; persistent lateness may result in suspension.
9. Program Cancellation by the School
If the school cancels a program before it begins and no alternative program is offered, families will receive a full refund.
If a program begins and is later interrupted for reasons beyond school control (including public health orders, weather, or force majeure), the refund policy above applies.
10. Acknowledgement
By completing enrollment and submitting payment, the parent/guardian acknowledges:
- full understanding of this Refund & Cancellation Policy,
- responsibility to comply with all school financial procedures,
- that tuition and fees are final and non-refundable after the start date.
11. Final Decision
The School reserves the right to make the final decision in matters related to refunds, tuition, withdrawal, dismissal and interpretation of school policies.
